Every Methacton student has a user name and a password. Make sure to keep this secure and don't forget it (write it down somewhere safe). Also don't forget to log off of the computer when you are finished using it.
With a user name also comes a "Z" drive of 1 GB of space just for you!
When you open Computer> You'll notice a (Z:) drive with a matching user name that you logged on with.... This is yours! And this is where you will save all of your work.
It is your job to organize it and keep it clean. If it becomes full, then delete files you no longer need. You can also back up those files from home using your Virtual Locker.
Understanding your Virtual Locker: Every student in Methacton has a "virtual locker" and should take advantage of it. You no longer need a flash drive, unless of coarse you would like extra space because you are only limited to 1gb of space. You can access the virtual locker from any computer with internet access, so yes that means at home as well. You just go to this website and log in with the same user name used to log onto the computers. Once you open it up you will notice all of the same files from your Z drive.... because it is your Z drive. Awesome! The "X" Drive
Every teacher in Methacton High School has two folders that you may access located on the (X:) drive.
Open Computer> Student Shares (X:)> and you will notice 3 yellow folders: Student Success Plan, Teacher Class Files, and Teacher Drop Boxes.
Teacher Class Files is for any resources that a teacher may want you to have access to use. For my class you will use this folder often to find Photoshop templates or images you may need for a tutorial. This year I may flush many of these files out in Edmodo. But a copy can also be found within the X drive.
Teacher Drop Box is used for you to drop files into so that a teacher may access them. You do not have permissions to open any drop box, you may only drop. In computer art class you will have to drop all of your PSD files into the drop box. We will flatten all files so that we can upload them to Edmodo, however in order for me to have a quality print from you I need your PSD file. You will soon learn the difference if this currently sounds like foreign language.
Wiki Space:
Wiki is where I house all of my lesson objectives and examples to make this class easier on you. If you are ever absent or fall behind... check out the wiki. It is the outline to the course.
I do like to keep things fresh, so I will be making changes to the wiki often. I will add new lessons and take away some old.
Edmodo:
Edmodo is our class facebook, yet very different.
This is where you will turn in projects, and get grades. We will hold class discussions about your artwork digitally and you will always be able to see what your peers are doing. We can even share Edmodo with your parents

Printing in A125: We do not print out every project in this class in order to save ink and paper. If you would like to print a hard copy for yourself, it is your personal responsibility to print it out. You may use the printer in this room to print out an art project at any point throughout the semester. Ms. Blakely will print artwork for the art show but you may or may not get it back. Again if you would like to print a copy for yourself, you are more than welcome to do so. Below is a tutorial on how to print to the laser printer in A125.
